"Who hears these words of mine & puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, & the winds blew & beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine & does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, & the winds blew & beat against that house, & it fell with a great crash."

Matthew 7:24-27

Kyler's Last Day of Kindergarten!

Kyler had his last day of kindergarten on Friday, May 22!  This was definitely a growing year for Kyler, and he did it so well!  The beginning of the year was such a struggle for Kyler, but by the end of the year, he was doing so much better.  We continued to go half days for the whole year.  There were some times we considered doing some full days at the end, but it just didn't happen, and we are okay with that.  Kyler had such a great teacher who helped him along in his transition.  We appreciate all of the time and effort she took to help Kyler feel more comfortable at school.  I am amazed at the different ways Kyler grew this year.  His handwriting came such a long way, and he really has nice handwriting.  Erik even jokes sometimes that it looks better than his. :)  Kyler's math skills grew, and I often will hear him rattling off simple addition facts.  He also soaked up all of the "themed" units they did, and especially loved the oceans unit at the end of the year.  Kyler enjoyed going to the GBPAC in the fall and Hartman in the spring for their class field trips, and he also met a few new friends along the way.  We are so grateful for Kyler's experience this year in Kindergarten!  Here are some pictures form his last day!

Norah's Last Day of Preschool

Norah had her last day of preschool on Tuesday, April 19th.  She will still have one more year of preschool next year.  Norah was so excited for her last day of preschool because they were having a program for all the parents to come watch.  I don't think she was really excited to be done with preschool, she was just wanting to preform in her program!  For several weeks beforehand, she kept asking, "when is my program?" or "how many more days until my program?", and then we would have to count or explain to her how much longer. :)  She could not wait to go up on stage and sing all of the songs she had been practicing and do all the actions that went with.  Norah is so in her element when she is up on stage singing and doing actions or dancing.  Norah had such a wonderful year of preschool.  She loved her teachers so much, and it was such a blessing that she got to have the same teachers that Kyler had-they are awesome!  I think this also helped make it a good transition for Norah, even though she really didn't struggle with going to preschool at all.  Norah loved all of the activities she did, the friends she was able to spend time with, and all of the things she learned.  She has come such a long way in writing her name this year as well as her drawing of "mat man". :)  Norah is already talking about when she goes to school again next year!  Here are some pictures from her last day.

Kyler's 6 Year Pictures

We thought we should get some pictures of Kyler being 6 years old, only a month after the fact! :)  It was a nice afternoon so we headed to Hartman and snapped a few pictures of this big guy!  I love how they turned out!

If you look close at his right wrist, he has a green worm he found that started to crawl up his arm in the middle of the picture :)

Grace is 19 Months!

Grace turned 19 months old on May 17th!  I can't believe she is closer to being two than she is one.  Grace's favorite thing to do right now is swing.  Every day she gets up, comes downstairs and after we eat breakfast, she is looking out the window going, "wee", "wee"?, meaning "Can we go swing now?". :)  She loves being outside, and doesn't understand that we can't go out when it's raining outside. :)  Grace has added a couple new words this month, she has started saying "papa" for Grandpa and "Ky ky" for Kyler.  She continues to love to wear people's shoes, and you can often find different people's pairs of shoes in random places around the house because Grace was wearing them and left them somewhere. :)  Grace LOVES the Gator, she always wants to ride in it, and when her and Norah are driving, look out! :)  She also continues to be obsessed with Harley, my parent's dog. :)  If she hears him barking she starts yelling "HarWeee!!" so she can go see him.  She loves to look at him out the window if he is hooked up outside.  Grace eats everything we eat, but her favorites continue to be cheese, graham crackers, yogurt, juice and any kind of cookie/cake/chocolate.  If one of the other kids gets out a "treat" after dinner, and she sees it, she immediately wants "dat", and starts saying "cookie" or sometimes will ask for "cake".  Those two words are very clear. :)  Here are some pictures from the last month!

19 Months!  And first pigtails!  She looks so big!
