"Who hears these words of mine & puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, & the winds blew & beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine & does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, & the winds blew & beat against that house, & it fell with a great crash."

Matthew 7:24-27

Meeting Calli!

A friend of mine from college was in town at the beginning of October with her new baby girl Calli!  Emili and I lived together for a year while we were in college at the Reisetter house.  The year after we lived together, Emili left to go to Texas to do YWAM full-time.  While she was in Texas, she met her husband and got married.  After they were finished with YWAM, Emili and her husband Neil moved to Ohio, where they currently live.  In August, Emili had a baby girl, Calli, and I was hoping that she would be bringing her to Iowa so that we could meet her.  Emili had also never met Norah.  I was so excited when I found out she was in town at the beginning of October!  So, Emili and Calli came over for a visit.  They had lunch with us and then we went on a walk around our neighborhood.  It's always fun to catch up and talk to Emili.  I feel like we can just kind of pick up where we left off the last time.  We don't get to see her very much since she lives so far away, but it is so good to see her when we do.  The day Emili and Calli came over, I told Kyler that baby Calli was going to come over and visit.  It was fun to see him interact with a newborn again being 8 months older than he was when Norah was born.  After we ate lunch, he even wanted to hold Calli.  Emili helped him prop her up on a pillow on the end of the couch and he did such a good job! (see the picture below).  Even the next day Kyler was still asking "where Calli was?".  We had such a fun time visiting with Emili and meeting Calli, we can't wait to see them again!

Norah is 8 Months!

Norah was 8 months old on October 5th!  Our little girl is getting so big, it's hard to believe she is 2/3 of a year old!  Here are some updates from Norah's month:

*Army crawling!  Norah mastered the army crawl this past month and is very speedy with it.  She looks like a panther on the prowl when she is going after something.  This also has caused some problems with Kyler because Norah can now get to all his toys and mess them up. :)  Kyler is often heard yelling "Help her, help her!!!!!" because she is coming after his nice line of cars or messing up something he has particularly set up.  She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth all the time, but she hasn't really taken any crawls on all fours yet.  I'm sure it won't be long though!  But, she is very mobile and can go wherever she wants to with her army crawl, no room in the house is off limits any more!

*Sitting!  Norah is now a very good sitter.  She can sit for long periods of time and outside in the bumpy yard as well.  She is also good at reaching for a toy and picking it up to play with.  Norah also can go from sitting to being on her belly.  She has gone from sitting to all fours just a couple of times, mostly she goes from sitting and then straight to her belly for her army crawl.

*Eating!  Norah now eats a wide variety of food!  She has had bananas, carrots, apple sauce, sweet potatoes, squash, pears, green beans, and peaches (plus whatever else I've forgotten) :)  She still eats cereal in the morning mixed with apple sauce and then eats a fruit and veggie at lunch and another fruit and veggie at dinner.  She does very well with eating and we haven't really found much she doesn't like.

8 Months Old!

I came into the play room to find Norah like this, wedged under Kyler's workbench with a golf club! :)

Pretty girl!

All smiles!

Miss Norah!
