"Who hears these words of mine & puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, & the winds blew & beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine & does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, & the winds blew & beat against that house, & it fell with a great crash."

Matthew 7:24-27

Norah is 17 Months!

Norah turned 17 months old on July 5th!  We were actually at the cabin when she turned 17 months, so her 17 month pictures are from the lake!  (more on that trip in a separate post) :)  Norah continues to let her little personality come out.  She is so full of life and energy and loves to be doing what everyone else is!  She still adores her big brother.  She wants to be doing what Kyler is doing at all times.  If Kyler is doing something, Norah will be doing the same thing within a matter of moments.  While we were up at the lake, my brother kept saying, "monkey see monkey do!" because she would do whatever Kyler was doing.  Norah loves to put on shoes right now.  I'm not sure when this started, but she is usually seen wearing someones shoes on a daily basis.  Whenever I come home from a run, Norah always wants my shoes so she can put them on.  She has been seen wearing everyone in the family's shoes at some point or another. :)  She also still loves to put on her "pretties" or beads (as you can see from the picture below).  I had my 10 year class reunion over Sturgis Falls weekend, so Kyler and Norah went to my parent's house one evening.  When we came to pick up Norah, she was wearing these HUGE beads (one of the picts below) and we just HAD to take them home with us. :)  Norah still loves to climb up everything.  She still loves to climb up a chair and onto the table (see picture below).  She is very strong, and since her weight isn't that heavy, she can pull herself up and hang on very tight.  Something Norah has been really into a lot is buckling everything.  She loves to "buckle" and will climb up into Kyler's booster seat just so she can buckle herself in.  She hasn't figured out how to unbuckle anything yet (thank goodness!!) so then she will just start to whine so you will come unbuckle her and she can do it all over again.  It was great at the lake because if she ever saw a life jacket sitting around, she would walk over to it and buckle all the buckles....which there were quite a few life jackets with quite a few buckles.....I think she was in heaven. :)  Erik said we just need to go to Hobby Lobby and buy her a bunch of buckles so she can just sit and buckle things all day. :) :) :)  One developmental thing for Norah this past month was beginning to say some words!  Norah had said Mama and Dada before, but the past month-especially towards the end-she really started saying actual words.  While we were at the cabin, she started saying "Max", which is my parent's dog's name.  She also would say "buckle" when she wanted to buckle something.  A couple other words Norah can say is banana, berry,  and more.  Norah also started calling her pacifier her "mama" this past month. :)  Norah also went to just one nap over the last month.  It was taking her forever to fall asleep in the morning, especially if she slept in at all.  Then, if she didn't get up from her morning nap by a certain time, then she wouldn't go down for an afternoon nap at a decent hour, which would then make her take forever to go to bed at night.  So, I just decided to go to one nap.  It was s bit of a stretch for a while, especially if she got up too early, there were a couple days where she almost fell asleep eating lunch. :)  But I think she is doing better now, and it's less stressful for me trying to get her to sleep and waking her up, etc.  Here are some pictures of our little Miss from the past month!
