"Who hears these words of mine & puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, & the winds blew & beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine & does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, & the winds blew & beat against that house, & it fell with a great crash."

Matthew 7:24-27

We Have a House!

WoooHoo!!  We are officially homeowners again!!  On June 16th, we closed on our new house!!  Then that following weekend, we begin painting……everything!  The house we purchased is fairly out of date, it was built in the late 60's and I don't think much has been updated since then.  Although there is an endless list of projects we would like to get to, we had to draw the line somewhere because we needed to get moved in.  So, we started with painting, I think we painted every room on the main floor and the upstairs, except the hall ways.  We were blessed with some amazing help on our first "painting weekend", as Erik's parents and sister, my parents and brother, aunt, and cousin's husband came to help.  We still had quite a ways to go, but it was great to get a good start on things!  Here are some pictures from our "painting weekend". :)

Small portion of the front of the house, you can hardly walk on that sidewalk as the bushes are overtaking it.

Ahh, better!  Craig did a little "trimming" :)

Living room, wish I would have gotten another "before" picture as there were HUGE cornices (headers) :) above those lovely green curtains.

Standing in living room looking into dining room, more cornices and curtains, but they are already gone.

Lunch break on the back porch!

All done!

This wasn't the same weekend either, but on a whim, we decided to paint our garage floor, and I'm SO GLAD we did, it looks amazing.

Grace is 20 months!

Grace turned 20 months old on June 17!  I haven't been doing a very good job about keeping up with her "milestones" these past few months, but she still continues to grow and change! :)  One of the big things I noticed this past month was that she has been putting two words/thoughts together, for example she will find Norah's shoes and say, "rah-rah's shoes".  Her vocabulary continues to expand and she has added several new words this past month.  Grace still loves to be outside and will go out whenever she can.  Below you will also see a picture of her beloved shoes.  These shoes are the ONLY ones she will wear.  It has become very evident over the past couple months that she doesn't like to wear any other shoes and these are THE pair of shoes she must ALWAYS put on. :)  I'm not sure what it is about them, either the bright colors, or they are comfortable for her, whatever it is, she loves them. :)  The funny thing about them is that my mom got them on clearance at the end of last year for really cheap and hoped they would work well for her this summer. :)  Don't know what we will do when they are too small and it's too cold to wear them. :)  Here are some pictures from the past month. :)
