"Who hears these words of mine & puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, & the winds blew & beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine & does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, & the winds blew & beat against that house, & it fell with a great crash."

Matthew 7:24-27

Christmas #4 and #5

We celebrated Christmas with Erik's immediate family on the Friday after Christmas.  As soon as the kids got up from their afternoon nap, we headed over there.  Kyler and Norah were once again very excited to open presents and were very eager to help Grandma Deb pass out everyone's gifts.  As soon as everything was sorted, the kids went first and opened their presents.  When they were all done, the adults opened their things.  After we finished opening our presents, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner that Erik's mom had made.  We then hung out for a while after supper and then headed home.  Here are some pictures of Christmas with Erik's immediate family.

The Saturday after Christmas we had our final celebration in Dows with Erik's mom's side of the family.  We left late morning and arrived just in time for lunch.  We enjoyed a great meal of soups, sandwiches, dips, salads, and chips.  Erik's cousin's fiancé said that she thought she was in heaven looking around at all the food there was to eat, and I agreed! :)  After lunch we hung out for a while, then the kids took naps and the adults played our annual BINGO game.  We all had to bring two  unwrapped "gifts" that were $5 or less as prizes for BINGO.  Erik and I ended up with some chocolates, towels, headlamps and batteries. :)  After BINGO the little kids opened presents.  The kids played a while longer and then we loaded up to come home early evening.  Here are some pictures of Christmas with Erik's mom's side of the family.
